Do you know how easy it is to make homemade peanut butter?
That delicious, creamy spread, often paired with sweet jelly, is actually pretty easy to make from scratch!
The great part about making peanut butter at home is you can adjust the ingredients according to taste.
You can add more or less salt, honey or sugar to ‘play’ with its sweetness, you can even adjust your texture just the way you like it (some like it creamy, others prefer it crunchy).
How do you make homemade peanut butter? Here’s the recipe:
Now, peel them all (this will take a while.. depending on how fast you can peel your peanuts, it can take anywhere from 20 to 45 minutes)
Place the peeled peanuts on a tray covered with baking paper.
Roast the peanuts in the oven, at 350°F (180°C) for about 10 minutes (but do check up on them often, so they won't burn!)
Now, let the peanuts cool until they reach room temperature (this should take about half an hour).
Place the peanuts in a blender and add the teaspoon of vegetable oil, a pinch of salt, a pinch of sugar and a few drops of honey (you can omit the honey & sugar if you're unsure you'll like the result)
Turn the blender on and mix for about 20-30 seconds at a time, then let the blender rest (this is to avoid 'roasting, the blender's engine, if you have a small one). After about 2-3 minutes of blending, your mixture will look crunchy
But keep blending, it will eventually turn to delicious peanut butter!
Have a taste and adjust for salt, sugar and/or honey, and blend until you reach your desired consistency.
