First, squeeze the orange juice, then grate the orange zest using the grater.
Now, melt the butter together with the chocolate on a small flame, on the stove.
Separate the 6 eggs: separate the yolks from the whites.
Add the orange zest to the melted chocolate and then add the 6 yolks. Stir well!
Beat the 6 egg whites into a thick foam, adding just a pinch of salt. When the whites foam starts to become thick, add the sugar little by little and continue to beat the egg whites (use a spoon, it’s easier to add sugar to egg white foam this way)
Now, gently mix together the egg whites with the meltdown chocolate (the melted chocolate should be cooled down by now. If not, wait a few minutes before mixing in the egg white foam!)
Bake: add the chocolate mixture to a tray covered in baking paper and bake for about 45-50 minutes.
Preparing the orange salsa
Simply mix the 3 ingredients together… That’s it. Heavy cream + orange juice + powdered sugar equals yummm when served on top of the fresh bakes flourless chocolate cake!
To know if the cake is ready, use a toothpick: stick it into the cake while still in the oven.
If the toothpick comes out clean, your cake is ready!
If the toothpick comes out all covered in gooey cake mix, your cake isn’t done yet.
