Why i will not step foot in a restaurant again

For the first time in my life i went to a restaurant. By accident :D My other half and i were invited to a conference in a hotel and for lunch we were all invited to eat at the hotel’s restaurant.

restaurant“oh, my”, i thought, “i’m gonna have lunch in a real restaurant”. Expensive food, weiters dressed sharp and everything, just like in the movies :) Too bad i left dissapointed.

The food was… less than nothing. There were 3 dishes and dessert.

The first dish was a big plate with 3 pieces of transparent meat, coverred with 3 pieces of salad and 3 pieces of a tomato… “great”, i thought, “i will only eat the vegetables but maybe they have something else coming, something more consistent”.
Wrong…

The weiters noticed i don’t eat meat and offered to prepare me something based on cheese instead of meat.

The second dish was a small (and i mean SMALL) piece of lasagna… “ok, this must have been the apetizer. I’m really hungry, when does the real food come?”

It didn’t… For the last dish i got a plate with cheese. 3-4 pieces of cheese, 2-3 salad leaves and a small piece of mozzarella. “oh my god, we’re gonna starve until we get home..”

I always thought that going to a restaurant was something luxurious. For a high price i expected something to ease my hunger but instead i left more hungry than i arrived. Not to talk about my other half, he’s a man, he clearly eats more than me.

Of course the day ended in a fantastic wish to eat a kebab. We felt like 2 people in the dessert and the kebab was our oasis! But we were to tired from all that hunger and went straight to bed when we arrived home :P

From now on if i really have to go to a restaurant, i promise to eat at home before :D

That really is a bad experience. But that doesn’t make all restaurants like that you know. There are other restaurants that offers really good dishes so don’t give up on trying on other restos. :)

It’s like you’ve been expecting a great warcraft battle and then it turned out to had a bad experience of loosing it.:>

And that was really an awful experience though you’re in a high class restaurant. I think if i would be on your situation, I’ll be also disappointed.

Don’t lose hope buddy, you can still try other good restaurants.I know there are lots of restaurants that still offer great dishes and services. Maybe, you can try there and be sure that you will be satisfied on their food.

At least you’ll save a lotta $$ eating at home! Don’t let one bad egg spoil your whole dining out experiences. Just don’t go back to that one! Rock on!

Wow, that’s too bad it was such a crappy experience. I’ve rarely had bad experiences like that in restaurants. Usually the more expensive ones give less food…next time go somewhere like an Olive Garden or somewhere more normal, not in a fancy hotel.

It was not a good way to treat a customer. Nevertheless, not all restaurants are like that. You should give them a chance.

Not good experience in a restaurant. Better to eat at home before you go anywhere else even though your going to eat out rather than to experience that again.Still there are cozy restaurant that offers food that you’ll love to eat and of course not that pocket friendly.^_^

Oh thats horrible. But in your case I wouldn’t stop visiting restos… Talk to friends for some recommandations and try it again. I’m having a restaurant (Too bad that I live in Germany) but you can’t say they’re all bad. You just have to find your favourite one :-)

How sad to hear that. But there are still some restaurants that offered good and great foods. Hope it wont happen to you again.

What a bad experience. Eating in a restaurant is not that pocket friendly you will spend more and eat less.^_^.
Restaurant is one of a great venue to chat with friends, client and of course significant other. And it’s really nice to eat in a restaurant specially if it’s for free.
Still try to visit other restaurant, I’m sure there are some that offers great food and services.

You should have told him beforehand that you don’t eat meat. Well, that’s too bad. A lot of people eat meat. Those who don’t are left without anything if all there is to eat is meat.

That’s funny. I’m surprised by you saying you never ate in a restaurant before?

Sorry for the poor 1st experience, but hey, not all restaurants are like that.

I am sorry you had a bad experience, but there are good restaurants serving excellent food. Since you were invited for a conference, maybe this was the menu ordered by the person who arranged the conference. Check it out, before blaming the restaurant.

Seriously though, most restaurants are not like this. The majority are excellent, don’t write them all off based on one bad experience!
