Crash diets: do they work or not?

Crash diets: do they work or not?

Weight loss questions and answers
Crash diets seem to be the most popular methods people are looking for when wanting to lose weight. Everyone wants to lose it fast and without any effort. And since a crash diet is so easy (in theory), many will look for one. The less calories, the better. Some might even be OK with drinking water all day long, is anyone advised it online! This is the problem with crash diets, you can indeed lose weight extremely fast if you starve yourself. Really, you can. But what's the point? You're gonna gain it all back anyway. And what appalls me most is that we're used to believe everything we read. Any article saying "experts say "simply must be true! (sarcasm..) What the media says about crash diets If you Google "crash diets" right now, you will find many websites talking about the research
How to kick start my weight loss?

How to kick start my weight loss?

Weight loss questions and answers
Kick starting weight loss is a real challenge among everyone who decides to try it. I know it was for me, I knew I had to do something to lose weight because it's not gonna come off if I just think about it real hard. However, kick starting your weight loss is not that easy, changes need to be made and you'd have to strictly follow them, or it won't work. I'll start with what I did wrong.  I assumed that I would lose weight if I simply stopped eating junk food, like potato chips, cheesy balls, tons of chocolate and bonbons. While the idea was good, it wasn't enough. I did stop eating these unhealthy snacks, but that's all I did. And this is a very common mistake among overweight people. Just by cutting out unhealthy treats from your diet, you won't start to magically lose weight. Esp
How to work out with no gym

How to work out with no gym

Workout routines
A very common excuse for not working out is not being able to go to the gym. Whether you don't have the time for it or the money to pay for a gym subscription or maybe you don't even have one in our area, this excuse is no longer valid nowadays. I remember, before deciding to lose the weight fore real, how I used to make plans to go to the gym "tomorrow", or "next Monday" and so on, but the day never came. So, I decided that, since I won't go to the gym, I could bring the gym to me. I got my first piece of "gym equipment" in 2010. It was the AB Rocket everyone was talking about. Then, that same year, I got a pair of dumbbells as a gift from my dad (with different sets of weights and everything). I think it was 2011 when I bought my spin bike and 2012 when I got myself a yoga ma...
Just a few weight loss myths

Just a few weight loss myths

Weight loss
Eating salads makes you lose weight, running every day helps you lose weight, bread makes you fat etc. I think I've heard and read them all and, yes, once you decide to start losing weight you will surely look for information on how to do it all over the place. However, there are a few myths about weight loss that are definitely not true. I have seen articles all over the net that are supposed to help people with their weight loss, but instead they are either copied from someone else or are written just to drive traffic to the site. Well, it happens. I have successfully managed to lose exactly 16 and a half pounds in 75 days. Yes, I keep track, but I'll talk about "weight loss obsessions" some other time :P I'm really proud of what I managed to accomplish and I'm also glad I didn'
Lose weight by setting small goals

Lose weight by setting small goals

Weight loss
One of the biggest issues I personally have with this whole weight loss process is that not only is it hard at times, but my goal weight just seems so far away! I bet everyone who wants to lose weight has the same problem. Well, in this particular situation there are 2 things you can do: you can either quit and go back to being fat (I know it's not politically correct to say that, but it's the cold truth) or, you can continue to fight for yourself and eventually reach your goal weight and be proud you did it! Reaching your goal weight can be a bit tough though, especially when you have to lose like, 50 pounds or more! Well, to make things easier on yourself you could set up small goals and slowly reach each of them. Once you reach one small goal, move on to the next one and so on, un...
