Healthy recipes – breakfast sandwiches

Another alternative to the cereal bowl every morning, besides the veggie omelette, is this: have a sandwich!

It’s fast and nutritious. Well, depending on what you put on top. Here’s what I usually eat: (makes 2 sandwiches)

  • 2 slices of bread
  • some ricotta cheese
  • 2 slices of prosciutto
  • some slices cucumber
  • some cheese
  • slices of tomato

It sounds like a lot, but it’s really not. You have some dairy, some meat and some veggies. Then you have some bread… but if you eat 2 slices of bread for breakfast you’re not going to get fat!

You can add your own ingredients to the sandwich, I just tried to give you an idea of what a breakfast sandwich is about. As long as you add some cheese and some veggies, you’re good to go.

A sandwich is not about mayo or greasy bacon or about a lot of bread. You can add some healthy ingredients on top of 1 slice of bread. You can use whole grain bread, you can toast it, you can use a small baguette, as long as you don’t stuff yourself with empty bread, a sandwich is very OK to have for breakfast.

Isn’t it nice to be able to prepare a quick breakfast like this?
