Downtime apologies
Comments(38) I apologise for the downtime. I just fixed it. If anyone saw some errors when trying to read the blog, well.. let’s hope you won’t see them again.
I have no idea what happened. Yesterday all my sites were fine, this morning none of them worked 
I even woke up at 7 o’clock, as if i knew… (okay, i didn’t, but what are the odds 
)
I kept getting errors when trying to acces the sites, errors like “parse error: expected “;” on line <number_of_line> in file <name_of_file>”. I tried to upload each file i got errors on one by one, until i got another nice error: “can’t reach <something about widgets> on file <file_name> on line <number_of_line> “, or something like this.
I’m telling you all this not because it’s damn interesting, but because maybe someone got some similar errors. I uploaded all files from the wordpress version, except the folders. I also had to upload wp-config again, it didn’t work otherwise.
It’s all ok now, let’s hope it stays this way 
Sorry to hear about you site. I also faced the same problem with my site before 1 months ago. I want to suggest you that you should talk with experts for it. Thanks for sharing too. Let hopes it will be working fine soon.
I feel bad with what happened to your website,downtime is one of technical problem a blogger may encounter. Better seek help from expert.

I uploaded wordpress again, seems like it’s working ok now
Sounds like someone was fiddling about with the code of Wordpress. The error may not have appeared until a cached file became out of date, was then refreshed and contained faulty code. So, could be anytime in the last few days.

Hey Adry, i too had similar problems when i put some widgets. When i removed those widgets and restored my site, everything was fine. Hope this tidbit would help you.

This is Critical thing for your online success because down time will heart your user as well as search engine which are the best platform to get readers or traffic.
I think this is because of the new wp version and sometimes, you must also upgrade the widgets/plugins you are using to comply on the new wp version.
Really i feel very upset when i came to know with what happened to your website,don’t worry keep it up,all the best for future.

It’s good that you have recovered your site to it’s normal up time. May I also suggest that you back-up your files so that it’s easy for you to restore when trouble arises.

And my site was down for 2 days straight when I tried to upgrade to WP 2.7. I was using an old wpconfig file, and hadn’t transferred all of the files. WP can be scary and really awful, but great when it’s running smoothly!
The theme name is WickedWP, but i customized it, it doesn’t look like this when you first install it

It’s good to hear that your sites are all ok now. I hate it when this happened to my site, too. I’m not an expert in fixing this kind of problem…good thing, I have a techie brother who always help me.

It is a PHP parshing error …or may be the DB connection was creating some glitches ..it happens when an exception arises due to some plugin…check all the plugins and their settings..
I think its normal that you sometimes get a downtime error. And your readers will surely understand that.

It drives me crazy when things that are supposed to work automatically for the most part like computers start doing strange things.
We deal with enough adversity throughout the day without having our tools of the trade start giving us problems…

i had similar errors when i used wordpress.. now my site is in blogger and im not having no porblems.. the other reason i left wordpress was because out of the blue it stop uploading pictures..well im happy in blogger and would recommend it..
It’s just okay. It is just common to have problems. All you have to do is just do your best to fix problems.
